The Exempt is a mystery, fantasy, thriller; it is a story of trauma, identity, and recovery. It covers various heavy topics including child abuse, sexual abuse, self-harm, suicide, depression, anxiety, violence, murder, and torture. The Exempt is intended for mature audiences.
The Exempt is a story that I've been wanting to create for over a decade now. It started with the below drawing, which was meant to be just a one-off fun attempt at a comic scene. But it swiftly began to grow a life of its own. Though it started with a comic, I now dedicate my time to it in the form of a novel (with the odd additional illustration).
